 Video Investigator and Video Active training

 We are happy to announce that Cognitech Inc. recently teamed up with Video  
 Advisors LLC to provide user certification training for licensed owners of Video 
 Investigator and Video Active.

 Video Advisors LLC is currently planning a full 40-hour certification course.

 The upcoming training will be conducted by a certified Video Investigator and Video  
 Active instructor with several years of law enforcement video enhancement experience.  

 Notes:

  • Training pricing will remain $1995.00 per seat

  • Computers and the latest VIVA software releases will be provided for your use
    (during the week of training only)

  • Classroom work files and training manuals will be distributed 

  • Training duration is approximately 40 hours

  • Daily written and practical examinations will be implemented, a passing score
    of 75% must be achieved for certification

  • Attire is casual yet respectable, as a comfortable classroom is always best for learning 

  • Students are responsible for travel, lodging and meals 

  • There is a group discount of 20% available at the Pepper Tree Inn.  See the bottom of the page for details.  

  • Payment for training is due, in full 45 days prior to the first day of class - No Exceptions!

  • This is a technical course that uses computers.  Students must be familiar with basic Windows functions such as creating folders, opening and saving files, etc.

 Instructional Topics include but are not limited to:

  • General video issues

  • Demultiplexing - "On the fly" and from file

  • Velocity estimation 

  • Stabilization 

  • Reconstruction

  • Deblurring

  • Denoising

  • Rescaling

  • Format conversions

  • Working with digital original files

  • Photogrammetry and calibration (suspect height estimation from video)

  • "Video Enhancement in Law Enforcement" PowerPoint presentation

  • Courtroom discussion

  HOW TO GET TO TRAINING:

  200 South Civic Drive in Palm Springs is just west of the Palm Springs International Airport.

  FROM INTERSTATE 10 EASTBOUND:

  Get off the I-10 Freeway at the Highway 111 (Palm Canyon Drive) exit, and follow it south. After passing  
  the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway on your right, continue south on Palm Canyon Drive approximately 2˝
  miles. The road will become a one-way street in Downtown Palm Springs. At the center of town, turn left
  on Tahquitz Canyon Way (Leed's & Son Jewelers will be on your left, Starbuck's on your right). Continue
  east on Tahquitz Canyon Way. After passing the Palm Springs Mall and Farrell Drive, watch for Civic Drive
  (if you hit the Airport, you've gone too far). Turn right on Civic Drive and watch for the Police Department on
  your left. Park in front of the Training Center. The door will be furthest to your left and a schedule
  should be posted regarding training.

  FROM INTERSTATE 10 WESTBOUND:

  Get off the I-10 Freeway at the Ramon Road exit. Follow Ramon Road west approximately 3.8 miles, and
  you'll cross the Ramon Road bridge. Continue west across the Ramon Road bridge. You'll pass the Palm
  Springs International Airport on your right. As soon as you pass the airport, turn right at the traffic signal
  on El Cielo Road. At the next signal, turn left on Baristo Road. Turn right on the very first street, Civic
  Drive. Watch for the Police Department on your right. Park in front of the Training Center. The door will be
  furthest to your left and a schedule should be posted regarding training.

  Students from the last few classes really enjoyed staying at the Pepper Tree Inn.  It is located at     
  622 N Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs, CA 92262  (760) 318-9850.  It is within walking distance of 
  all the shops, taverns and eateries in downtown Palm Springs. A car will be needed to travel between the 
  hotel and training.
