"Train Hard, Train Smart.........Race From The Heart"

I am currently doing my indoor training at the Michigan Athletic Club, located in East Lansing Michigan. 

My outdoor training consists of a lot of cycling, dirt road running and 5am open water swims, right out the back door.

I train about 50% of the time with a few great partners and the rest is alone.  

A sample week would include 12 - 24 hours:

Swimming - 3-4 sessions per week - 1 to 2 hours per session. Two open water sessions per week of 1.2 miles and 2.4 miles (seasonal) leading up to Ironman. 

Biking - Outdoors 4-5 days per week  -  30 Mile time trail rides to 130 mile endurance rides.  Indoors,  I am a certified Spinning Instructor and teach high intensity classes weekly.

Running - 3-4 days per week -  Depends on mileage.

Weight lifting - Not as much as I should be doing.  Where is the time?

My long sessions include bricks such as a 90mile  bike followed by a 10mile run.

This is from the first group ride we had in April of 2005.  I took the photo so I'm not in it.  We had a great time and had some good food afterwards.  70 degrees in April, in Michigan!!!  I look forward to some more rides with you guys.

 

2004 Amino Vital Indoor Group Cycling Class.  This was a great winter break for all of us.  We had a full room and the intensity was up there.  We had lots of goodies to hand out and everyone had a great time!

    

Thanks to my sister Jackie, my swim times have dropped dramatically as well as anxiety level about the swim portion of triathlon.
